Monday morning

100.1

So here’s Monday again. I have the day off today, so a shout out to all of you all who are working today and think of me working tomorrow when most of you are enjoying Youth Day off.

Well what a great weekend I had. Pity I can’t write about it here, this diary being just a tiny bit TOO public.

On a safer topic, I saw Terminator Salvation last night. Now I must say up front that I did not hate it, but it’s not the big film event of the year for me (Star Trek still holds that title). I read a couple of reviews saying it was average at best, so I wan’t expecting a life changing experience. The action scenes were well done and the dialogue was adequate, the actual story line I found forgetable apart from the stupid bit where John Connor saves the guy he’s “going to send back in time and who will become his father” and then promptly does some things that looked very likely to result in his own death. Hey Connor, you idiot, how are you going to send the guy back in time if you aren’t alive?

Perhaps in part my lower expectation of this film is based on the whole premise of the Terminator universe. The whole thing is based on travelling back in time and changing stuff, happily spawning out on a complete overload of paradox. Something built on that as a base one can’t take seriously as a story without risking major headache, so to me it’s just action flix.
